Project Recruit is working with a premier boutique law firm on Long Island seeking a Transactional Associate with 2+ years of experience to join its sophisticated and highly regarded practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys transactional work and is interested in developing deeper experience in executive compensation, employment agreements, and complex business arrangements . Prior employment or executive compensation experience is preferred, but not required. The firm is open to attorneys with strong transactional backgrounds who are interested in expanding into this specialized area.

The practice represents executives, professionals, management teams, and businesses in sophisticated matters involving employment relationships, compensation arrangements, equity-based compensation, partnership arrangements, restrictive covenants, and related business transactions. The firm's work spans a broad range of industries, including financial services, private equity, technology, media, entertainment, healthcare, and other professional sectors.

Responsibilities

The associate will work closely with experienced attorneys on matters that may include:

• Drafting and negotiating employment and executive agreements
\n
• Reviewing and negotiating bonus, incentive, commission, and other compensation arrangements
\n
• Working on equity and equity-based compensation matters
\n
• Drafting and reviewing severance and separation agreements
\n
• Handling restrictive covenant, confidentiality, non-solicitation, and related provisions
\n
• Drafting consulting and independent contractor agreements
\n
• Assisting with partnership, business, and other sophisticated transactional matters
\n
• Advising clients regarding contractual rights and obligations
\n

Qualifications

\n
• 2+ years of transactional legal experience
\n
• Employment law and/or executive compensation experience preferred, but not required
\n
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
\n
• Ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively with senior attorneys
\n
• Interest in sophisticated executive compensation and employment-related transactional work
\n
• New York Bar admission preferred
\n
