Teledyne Technologies Incorporated provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability. These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.

We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.

As a Field Service Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring our customers' laboratory and process operations run reliably, safely, and at peak performance. You are the face of our service organization—bringing technical expertise, professionalism, and problem-solving skills directly to customer sites. Your work supports long‑term customer partnerships and helps maintain the high standards associated with our products and services. In this role, you'll work both independently and alongside a supportive team, delivering exceptional on‑site calibration, maintenance, and repair services.

What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and network-connected products at customer sites.
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and process equipment.
  • Diagnose performance issues and recommend solutions that improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide customer training and technical guidance to enhance proper equipment use and preventative care.
  • Respond proactively to potential issues to minimize downtime and unplanned business interruptions.
  • Serve as a technical resource for colleagues and customers, occasionally mentoring other field engineers.
  • Support high‑volume customer locations with on‑site calibration services.
  • Ensure professional, timely communication and a strong customer service experience.

What you need

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience servicing analytical or laboratory instrumentation
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Associate degree with experience also considered
  • 5–10 years of related equipment troubleshooting, calibration, or repair experience
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word‑processing software
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and maintain a valid driver's license

You'll join a team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. We offer opportunities to deepen your expertise, work with a broad variety of equipment, and grow within a supportive environment.

Once you submit your application, our hiring team will review your background. If selected, you'll be contacted for next steps—typically via email unless otherwise specified.

Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards. We require all employees to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, rules and regulatory orders. Our reputation for honesty, integrity and high ethics is as important to us as our reputation for making innovative sensing solutions.

Teledyne is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status, age, or any other characteristic or non-merit based factor made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.
